I’ve been fairly quiet as late. It’s not been easy, to fundraise or raise awareness with lockdowns and restrictions, but I tried my best to be more inventive and did what I could!
In January 2021, I walked up and down the stairs to complete the height of Mount Everest. Standing at 8849m it equates to 2949 flights of stairs. This was harder than it looked and I ended up with a minor ankle injury! – Note to self – Must not do challenges in slippers!
I started a new challenge and managed to complete two Wainwright Walks, Blencathra (868m) and Loughrigg Fell (335m) – Challenge 20. There are 214 Wainwright Walks, so periodically I will keep adding to the total – it may take a little time!
Out of the blue, I received a cheque from my lovely cousin who donated £525 to the Willow Foundation and with the help of a dear friend, I also managed to do a couple of car boots which raised £122, finishing the year with a Santa Dash.
It’s unbelievable but 2022 will sadly mark the 10th year without Rob, so I am hoping to be as busy as possible, smashing a few more challenges! – Fingers and toes doubly crossed!
I am planning a few more Wainwright Walks and two long distance treks, Hadrians Wall (84 miles) and the Great Wall of China (36km). The latter has been postponed a few times due to Covid and is now in the diary for October 2022. Training has begun to get fit again and with a bit of luck, I might be able to fit in a few other things too.
Thank you so much for continuing to listen to my antics and for all your support.
