Friday saw us starting an hour earlier, with our group show dance. The Jailhouse Rock song is a great tune and we have finished the routine now – just need to practice perfect! More Show night procedures, ensuring timing for the show is spot on followed by a little practicing with our partners towards the end of the evening.
On Saturday the Coventry does Strictly contestants and dancers were at Morrisons, Holyhead Road, Coventry, bag packing. Another six hours completed by myself, helping the very generous customers with their bags. A few contestants wore their strictly outfits, wow! they looked dazzling gorgeous! Myself and a few others did our tango or samba in the aisles, greatly appreciated by the cashiers and customers.
The mood was very serious on Sunday. Lots of practicing the show routine, with dimmed and flashing lights. The sudden realisation that we have only one weekend to practice – only 12 days to go before the first show night!
Excitingly, the Dancing Feet dancers had a dress rehearsal of their Argentine Tango. They looked amazing and danced brilliantly.
So, I’m back tonight for another two hours, as are many of the other contestants and dancers. We are beginning to feel slightly tired, but there is still lots of laughter and banter, everyone trying to get their dances as perfect as possible!
